About the Studio

Dancing is a form of freedom and expression. For over fifteen years Merrick Dance Centre has encouraged children to communicate through movement; providing the necessary tools to enhance social, cognitive, and physical skills. We lay the foundation needed for your child’s dancing knowledge, and build upon the foundation of respect. Merrick Dance Centre, under the ownership of Courtney Breig, works on those skills in a fun– imaginative and non-competitive environment. 

Why don't we compete?

We don't believe that the quality of dance education changes if a dancer competes or not. Our dancers are trained at an equal level to those who may compete. The only difference? Weekly time commitment! At MDC, all of our classes have a loaded curriculum and the focus on proper technique, just like all dance classes should. We also believe artistry is not something that you can measure in medals and trophies.
